NEW!
Everyone tells me I should show you my IFOs. I have been flying them for around 10 years and have become known as the “IFO Guru”.
I now use a E-flite 250, 2 gram Spektrum receiver, 6 gram digital Spektrum servos and Castle Creation Phoenix 10 ESC lightened to 4 grams. I use 2 mm Depron foam for the side area, which allows it to be controlled in a hover. I painted it with ink sprayed on with an airbrush. I lightened the servos to 4.5 grams each. It weighs just under 3 oz. The picture is last year at Show “N” Tell for the Midwest Performance Flyers.

I have added a working rudder landing gear top & bottom. I have 3 IFOs the last one is scratch built with lighter carbon rods.

Here is a link to a video of my latest IFO. http://www.youtube.com/

"I am 80 years old... flew a lot of planes. My two IFOs are the Greatest and the most fun standing up that a man my age ever experiences. "..It's actually birthday wrapping plastic I found in the $1.49 store in the mall ...The rolls had enough material to do 2 or 3 IFO for $1.50. Not bad." Want to know what the Alaskans R/C pilots are doing? Check out: www.AlaskaRC.org

"I have no indoor flying site, and so I have used the IFO as an outdoor aileron trainer, as it is more indestructible than even the EPP flying wing....I really want to complement you on a fine original design which is easy to build and fly, and is sturdy enough for the beginner."

"The covering is tighter than it looks in the pictures (??) and it fly's well now. The flight picture is the first flight after adding bigger servos and the extra carbon rod. No tendency to power dive and auger in anymore - what a relief. The initial flights had the CG about 1/2" aft of recommended - made for high sensitivity on the controls. I think I will change back to lighter servos which will move the CG forward and get under 9 oz. I'm using 12v Lithiums, but definitely not getting 20 minute flight times.

Astro charger works great - have used it on 7,8 and 9 cell nicads and 8 cell Nimh for another plane. The IFO was covered in 2 pieces, but did not work as well as the previous covering with 2 piece covering that bi-sected the plane laterally. Reynolds wrap on the vertical, for light weight. Used 0.5 oz rip stop polyester kite fabric attached with special kite making double sided tape..." -Will Reed, WA
